Marriage is a vast, beautiful endeavor. It also sometimes requires more reflection and purposeful action. Those getting married for the first time often require a lot of direction on what a godly marriage looks like. We have put links to several of our past articles below.

First, you need to understand the purposes of marriage. You can read about that here in The 6 Purposes of Marriage.

Second, wives are called to respect their husbands. You can read about how to do that in 7 Practical Ways to Respect Your Husband.

Third, you need to understand that your husband’s ultimate goal is not to make you happy but holy. This will bring you the most happiness in the long term. Your job is to let him lead you in this way. You can read about his job here.

Fourth, your job is to follow his lead and submit to him. You can read an article on how to do that called When My Husband Tells Me What to Do. You can also read how following your husband’s lead is a blessing in Why Godly Men Leading in Marriage Does Not Devalue Women.

Fifth, you need help to get married. You need God’s help. You can read about how to do that here .
