I recently wrote about the Kingdom of God. To be part of the Kingdom of God, Jesus must be your King. It is for those who allow Jesus to rule and reign in their hearts. You must ask Him to be your Savior and follow Him. It is not a physical kingdom that can be seen with borders, but an invisible, spiritual one. The Kingdom is partially here, but not yet fully fulfilled.
WE MUST SEEK HIS KINGDOM FIRST
For many people, they chase after so many things in life: careers, hobbies, relationships, material goods, and the list goes on. Jesus says those in the Kingdom of God should seek His kingdom first.
Matthew 6:33 “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”
Putting King Jesus first in your life is part of being a part of the Kingdom. Serving the King before anyone or anything else is key. Do you put King Jesus first? If not, what is taking His place? How can you put Jesus in front of that person or thing?
THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS POWERFUL
For some their Christianity is just talk. We should know that proclamation is not necessarily participation. In other words, being a part of God’s Kingdom is not just declaring yourself a part of God’s Kingdom, it is living as a citizen under King Jesus. If you do this, there is power in Him. This Kingdom is not just a theory, or something to talk about, it is powerful and can change lives.
I Corinthians 4:20 “For the kingdom of God does not consist in talk but in power.”
Those who are part of the Kingdom just don’t talk about the King, they obey and follow the King.
THERE IS HOPE IN HIS ETERNAL KINGDOM
Almost everything that man builds will be destroyed, or be of no value one day, whether it is a nation’s kingdom or a person’s health or 401(k). Everything fades away. That is, everything except God’s Kingdom. This Kingdom is eternal and unable to be broken.
Hebrews 12:28 “Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe,”
Psalms 145:13 “Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures throughout all generations. The Lord is faithful in all His words and kind in all His works.”
There is perfect hope in the Kingdom of God because that Kingdom is eternal. It cannot be shaken or broken. If you are part of the Kingdom of God, you can cling to this promise. You do not have to lose hope.
Are you a part of the Kingdom of God? Do you seek His kingdom first? Do you just talk about the Kingdom, or obey the King and have your life powerfully transformed by His power? Do you have hope because of His eternal Kingdom?
