In Ephesians 5, the apostle Paul calls men to be the leaders of their marriage. They are not to do so in a domineering or demeaning way. In fact, the apostle Paul points to the example of how Jesus leads the church, and calls them to do so in a loving and sacrificial way. Here are five practical ways men can lead their wives and homes.
#1 Finances: Men can lead their wives in making sure there is a family budget. They can put together a time for them to work on it together. They can be the chief cheerleader in following the budget.
#2 Spiritual: Men can lead their wives by making sure they are spiritually nourished. They can take the lead in getting the family to church. They can make sure they are spiritually growing themselves in order to lead their family spiritually.
#3 Health: Men can lead their families by making sure they have the opportunity to be healthy. They can help create time for the family to exercise. They can lead by example in healthy eating.
#4 Rest: Men can lead their families to make sure they have time for rest. They can make sure there is a break in the schedule. They can help by saying “No” to taking on too much.
#5 Future: Men can lead in planning for their future. They can make sure they have proper savings for retirement. They can plan ahead for their children’s future academically and fiscally.
