I started giving God’s tips on money to servers, etc., recently. You can read that article here. As Christians, God should control every area of our lives, including money. Remember, He doesn’t want that control to hurt you, but help you. 

If you have been abusing money, it might not feel like help. It may feel like a constraint. That constraint, however, is for God’s glory and our good. Once we use money God’s way, we will actually find freedom. 

Proverbs 22:7 says debtors are slaves to those who lend it. It’s not freedom, but financial slavery to be in debt. Here are three financial tips from God.

LAZINESS LEADS TO A LACK OF RESOURCES

Proverbs 13:4 – “The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, while the soul of the diligent is richly supplied.” We must not be lazy. If we are able to work but are lazy, we can’t expect our needs to be met. We will lack resources.

LOVING MONEY IS EXHAUSTING

Ecclesiastes 5:10 – “He who loves money will not be satisfied with money, nor he who loves wealth with his income; this also is vanity.” If you just have a deep love for money and stuff, you are going to be exhausted in life, because there is always more money to earn and more stuff to accumulate. If you use money to serve God and support your family, you will find joy in it.

WORK FOR GOD 

Colossians 3:23 – “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the LORD, not for human masters.” Everything we do as Christians is ultimately for God, not ourselves. If we see our job as working for His glory, not just a paycheck, this will inspire us to work harder.
